Recently there have been some inquiries into the subject of PQRI and how can one take advantage of the program. Perhaps the place to start is with an explanation of what is PQRI.
The following definition of PQRI is provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services: The Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI) is a voluntary individual reporting program that provides an incentive payment to identified eligible professionals (EPs) who satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) services furnished to Medicare Part B beneficiaries (including Railroad Retirement Board and Medicare Secondary Payer). Medicare Part C - Medicare Advantage patients are not included in claims-based reporting of individual measures or measures groups.
